    1. I was amazed at how many there are, but then last night after watching the ANZAC Webinar by FindMyPast I started searching through all possible candidates in my files, and have found 20 more, and have only done surnames A to D. I think there are a lot more to come.

  4. My wife's grandfather served with "A" Company 26th Battalion during WW1, which happens to be the same Company as Victor Sydney Anderson. They were both "originals", having embarked on the troopship HMAT A11 Ascanius on 24th May 1915 bound for Egypt (2 July 1915) and ultimately onto Gallipoli on 12 September 1915.

Do you know which platoon number Victor was assigned to in "A" Company? Frank may have been in Victor's platoon and so they probably knew each other.

I've put together a list on the NLA's Trove website. You may find it interesting.
    https://trove.nla.gov.au/list?id=136892

I also found Victor's poems about the war quite moving.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Rgds,
    Jay & Vanessa (Sydney, Australia).
